Hi!
So, I'm here... and this time I'm staying (I'm so nervous!) :)
Well... what can I say? I'm excited to have a personal space where I can share things. Funny enough, if you had asked me years ago, I would have said not a chance, because the closest thing I had to this was Facebook. And while I did meet my wife through that social network, I don't think it's the best place to share your thoughts or emotions. I tried, believe me... there are probably still some photos and posts of me experimenting in the kitchen or making cocktails. But when I became a dad, I decided to gradually close that chapter to focus more on my family and on things that seemed more important.
It's been almost twelve years since then. And here I am... with many things I'd like to, somehow, get out of my head. Knowledge, ideas... the occasional thought, but above all, the desire to change, to do things I've never done before, others I've dreamed of doing since I was a child (like becoming a pilot), and to leave behind a part of my life to embrace an entirely new one.
No, don't get me wrong... I don't intend to forget anything. Quite the opposite. My experiences and memories are a very important part of me. But I'm at a point where both my body and my mind are asking for a change of direction, and that's what I'm working on. I've spent almost 25 years with my head glued to a computer screen, and it's about time to do something different. Now, I exercise as much as I can, eat less (though it might not seem that way with the recipes I'm about to share with you), I'm learning twelve different languages (Arabic, Catalan, Chinese, Danish, French, German, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Russian)1, I teach my son to code, I want to show him some basics in electronics with Arduino, and I do many other things in my free time. And no, it's not a joke. And yes, I still have time left after all that :P
In short: I have more energy than I had at 20, a huge desire to learn and to do things, and all the time in the world to share everything I know with you. So... shall we get started? :)
1. Not joking but here's the trick: I'm learning them with Duolingo and reinforcing them with some books and apps. I don't speak them like a native... but I get by :P
